Technical skills:
- Science and mathematical analyses
- Instrumentation and sensor design
- Signal processing and data acquisition systems
Background:
I completed my Ph.D. in experimental physics from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1988 and was involved in research projects for the physics, space sciences, and biology departments. I was funded under NASA contract NAGW-632 to develop spectroscopic instrumentation for the measurement of extreme-ultraviolet emissions from astrophysical atmospheres. I also performed spectral analyses of optical detectors developed for the Space Shuttle program. For the biology department, I implemented a spectroscopy system for the study of how photoreaction enzymes repair damaged DNA by inducing ultraviolet light.
After completing my Ph.D. requirements, I transitioned to a career as an industrial physicist. I’ve worked for a variety of advanced technology companies and am a research engineer at Southern Methodist University. I’ve maintained my consulting services throughout my career for many challenging projects. I have an extensive background in scientific analyses, the design of instrumentation systems, and the development of signal processing systems for a diverse range of research fields.
